The elaborate ceremony was presided over by the Mistress of Ceremony Mrs. Francess Turay, President of Tegloma Chicago chapter. Though it had snowed on Saturday morning and it was very cold that night, the Sierra Leonean community in Minnesota turned out in full to attend the inauguration and chapter fundraiser.
There was an impressive cultural performance by Tegloma youths and a spirited performance by the Tegloma Goboi and Sowei, cultural masquerades from Sierra Leone. Hardworking chapter members received awards for their service to Tegloma and the newly inaugurated president Hassan Kamara appealed for all Sierra Leoneans to join Tegloma and not listen to all the negatives that are out there about the organization, as most of these were simply not true. He promised to work in harmony with all other Sierra Leonean organizations to promote the interest of the country. Hassan was joined on stage by his wife Safiatu Kamara and his executive. The Federation Board Chairman gave meritorious awards to Mrs Elizabeth Momoh and Mr. Sheku Sheriff. The executive of Tegloma is grateful to all who made the inauguration a successful program.
